"...mesmerized..." |

“Our students were completely engaged -- in
fact, mesmerized!! Wow! I was too!!! To
other school officials, I would say, 'Book this
program immediately! Beg, borrow or steal
-- whatever you have to do!!"

Booking Information and Fees
Here's
how to book the Math assembly program that you want and your
students will LOVE!
Fees
The
fees for the presentations are $1,195 for a full-day (4-6
presentations), or $695 for a half day (2 presentations). A
full day can be split between two schools at no additional
charge. Thus you could have 2 Math-A-Magic assemblies at your
school in the morning and again at a different school in the
afternoon. Each school would pay one half of the full day fee
($597.50 each). This will allow each school to have up to two
assemblies. The only caveats are that both schools must be
close enough for the presenter to get from one school to the
other and reset for the afternoon programs.
We
have trained presenters located around the country, and there is
probably someone near you. Schools that are more than 100 miles
from where our presenters are based must book full days, or
partner with a nearby school to make up a full day. Schools
that are more than 200 miles from home must book 2 or more full
days of programs. Fortunately, this is not very difficult, and
we have painless methods of helping you recruit other schools to
join in the tour. If you are able to help book the number of
programs needed for your area, there will be no travel fees!
What Do We Get for Our Money?
In
addition to the educationally sound, highly entertaining program
described elsewhere in the pages of this site, we promise the
following:
-
A
professional performer who will be easy to work with, easy
to reach, and pleasant to speak to before, during and after
the visit.
-
A
presenter who will show up, early, well dressed and ready to
go, who needs very little in the way of supplies, amenities
or attention from you. Usually we would only need an
electrical outlet, an LCD or overhead projector, a screen or
a blank wall, a table and an audience. No green M&M’s, no
bottles of freshly chilled glacier water, no worries!
-
A
well rehearsed, precision tuned program presented through a
high quality sound system that will teach and entertain your
students and will impress your principal and other teachers.
-
A
presenter who understands the math he or she teaches!
To
Book Math-a-Magic for Your School
First,
you need to decide how many assemblies you will need to get all
the students in to see the program. Ideally, the smaller the
group, the better. We have seen amazing comprehension and
retention when presenting to groups of less than 50. Of course,
we can and do present to much larger groups very effectively,
all the time. Depending on the set up at your school, we can
break the students into groups as large as 175 kids if they are
sitting on the same level as the presenter. Any more than this
and the kids in the back feel that they can't see and it is a
constant battle to keep them seated. No one gets as much
out of the program in these situations.
If a
differentiated performance area can be provided (such as a stage
for the performer, OR risers or tiered seating like bleachers
for the kids) then our presenter can handle as many as 500
students at a time.
Next, contact
us by e-mail or phone (see the Contact Us page) asking about available
dates for your area. Let us know your preference and we will
work to meet your needs if at all possible. Because the program
is presented by different performers, depending on your
location, we do not have a centralized calendar to show our
availability. We are working on it, and hope to have this
problem solved soon!
At
this point,
once you have decided on a date and called or e-mailed, your
presenter will get back in touch with you by your selected
method of contact within 1-2 school days. Because we are often
in school presenting programs during your office hours, e-mail
may be the best way to begin the conversation.
When we respond,
we will answer your questions and begin the booking process.
After we book the assemblies
(and any other schools in your area) we will send out a packet
of information that includes a confirmation letter, invoice,
promotional materials, teacher classroom guides, a bibliography
of the books used in the program, a vocabulary list, and a sheet
outlining how to get the most from our visit. What you
will NOT get are surprises, difficult riders, or lengthy
contracts with silly demands.
For years, it has been our goal to be the EASIEST school show
performance you will ever bring to your school. Check out some
of the testimonials on the website to see what other schools
have had to say about our presenters and this amazing program
and you’ll understand why so many schools invite us back, time
after time.

Did You Know....
If
you laid end to end all the math teachers at the state
conference who attended that lecture on complex
polynomials, they would have been a lot more
comfortable!
Hmmm...

Bit is shorthand for "Binary digIT"
